Almost two thirds of women experience vaginal dryness after menopause and about the same number suffers from urinary incontinence. Enjoying sex is a part of being human, and that shouldn’t go away with the passing years because your vaginal lubrication and sensitivity has declined.

HOW IS THE WOW-SHOT® PROCEDURE DONE?

The procedure is done as follows:

• First blood is drawn from a vein to be
• processed to obtain the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
• A small amount of topical numbing ointment is placed on the treatment area.
• A clitoral block (local anesthetic block) is performed, with the use of ice and numbing cream to help numb the area.
• The PRP is mixed with several ingredients to activate the platelets and to reduce the discomfort during the injection.
• PRP is injected to specific areas to help treat your area of concern.

There is mild swelling and discomfort, but most patients do not need to take anything more than Tylenol®. The entire procedure takes less than 10 minutes after the PRP is processed, and there are no activity restrictions afterwards.

WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM THE WOW-SHOT®?

Our Biosymmetry patients have reported increased sensitivity throughout the vaginal area, increased lubrication, and increased comfort during sexual activity. They also report increased interest in sex, possibly as a result of the other improvements. This is not a procedure for more serious cases of urinary incontinence, but for mild cases, the Wow-Shot® has proven effective. Of course, results can vary by the patient. These results last for between six months and two years. We’ve found that patients can extend their results for a longer duration with a follow-up Wow-Shot-Shot® at six months to one year after their initial procedure.

For best results, other complementary strategies such as health optimization, nutrient and hormonal support are vital for the success of all Wow-Shot-shot® treatments.

How much pain will I experience?

Of the many patients that Dr. Pate has treated, the pain has been reported as mild (2-3 out of a scale of 10). He takes several steps to help reduce the discomfort you might experience. This may include the use of topical anesthetic cream, local anesthetic block, ice or other cooling devices for anesthesia. The anticipation and thought of the procedure usually causes more anxiety and stress for the patient than the actual procedure itself.

When can I return to sexual activity after the WOW-Shot®?

There isn’t any prescribed downtime after the Wow-Shot®, but there can be some soreness at the site of injection for a day or so. Patients can return to work or other activities immediately.
